Requirements for the Control Unit
The following table provides planners with guidance on which points to consider when selecting the
appropriate control unit.
Furthermore, the planner must also consider the repurposability of the control system. The room layout in office buildings is changing more and more frequently today due to new organizational structures. Often, changes to the assignment of sun protection systems must be made. The ability to connect Drives in parallel with simultaneous individual addressing makes a necessary new assignment very easy to implement.
General Functions

| Number of SMI Channels | One channel corresponds to an independent interface, each with one I+ and one I- connection. |
| Number of Drives per Channel | A certain number of Drives can be connected in parallel per channel. The number of permissible Drives per channel is determined by the manufacturer of the control unit. |
| Parallel connection without or with individual addressing | Depending on the concept of the control unit, parallel-connected Drives can only be controlled jointly or individually via the SMI addressing system. |
| Maximum Number of Drives per Control Unit | Maximum number of Drives to be connected to a control unit (Number of channels x Number of Drives per interface). |
| Supply Voltage | The supply voltage of the Drive can vary depending on the Drive type, mains voltage (e.g., 230VAC), or low voltage (LoVo). |
